SOUTH Africa's governing ANC leader Jacob Zuma has criticised the delay in publishing the results of Zimbabwe's presidential elections held 11 days ago.
Mr Zuma said the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) should have announced the results by now.

Zimbabwe's MDC opposition is taking legal action to get the results, but after days of delay, the High Court in Harare has only now begun considering the MDC's request for the immediate release of the election results.

Mr Zuma said Zimbabwe's election had become an international issue, and admitted it did not augur well to keep Zimbabwe and the rest of the world in suspense over the election results.

His comments were in stark contrast to those of his rival in South Africa, President Thabo Mbeki, who last weekend called the situation "manageable". On Monday, Mr Zuma met Zimbabwe's opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, when he visited Johannesburg for the day.

Mr Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party is trying to persuade Zimbabwe's neighbours to take a more public stand, and said there had been a deafening silence in the region over the bloodshed in Zimbabwe.

I have friends who have lived in Zimbabwe for 40 years. Their lives are now a constant struggle.

Hope fully this will be resolved and the tyrant Mugabe will be out on his ear. He makes even Wendy Alexander look good.

I thought the term Fuzzy wuzzy came out of the Sudan campaign against the dervishes-sure Churchill used the term in connection with his part in the campaign. Whilst not excusing the linguistic excesses of the colonial era, this term and the golliw*g word much loved by Robertsons Jams were not really meant to insult

I cannot imagine what passes through the head of Robert Mugabe to want to stay in power at any cost for as long as possible. I can only suppose power corrupts and the urge to hold on to it must be quite strong.
But I would like to know how he thinks his people will remember him, say, in one or two or 10 generations time. With love?! With respect?! With a good word to say about him?!

Thabo Mbeki is a total disgrace,he has sat on his hands and watch Mugabe destroy a rich health nation, when the time for rebuilding comes aid should be diverted from South Africa to Zimbabwe and Mugabes billions of embezelled aid used as well.

Jacob Zuma is a Robert Mugabe in the making
... remember he was on trial
... he is corrupt and useless.
South Africa will be in the same situation as Zimbabwe in five or six years.
