Twenty-six die as bus plunges off highway

Honduras: A passenger bus plunged off a highway and rolled 500 yards down a hillside in western Honduras, killing 26 people and injuring at least 19.
The 26 dead included at least three children and 16 women.

Sri Lanka: A roadside bomb attack which was blamed on Tamil Tiger rebels killed two police officers in eastern Sri Lanka today, despite government assurances that it had ousted the rebels from the area after 13 years of Tamil Tiger control.
