THE CIA this week transferred a suspected al-Qaeda member close to Osama bin Laden to Guantanamo Bay, the Pentagon said yesterday.
Muhammad Rahim allegedly tried to buy chemicals to attack coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Will they be taking him on a world torture tour first?

Why wasn't he handed over to the alleged independent Afghani government for trial? Why do the septics feel the need to kidnap him, and probably have him tortured before sending him to their imperialist Cuban colony?

>"Why wasn't he handed over to the alleged independent Afghani government for trial?"

What, and have you Taliban apologists cry 'Rendition, rendition!" ?

He's gone to Cuba so that you 'pocket revolutionaries' can demand American-type civil rights for him, complete with free legal representation at a criminal trial.

This will upset Salmond and Co.

Maybe another demonstration outside the US Consulate in Edinburgh is in order Mr Salmond, eh?

Thats assuming you're not too busy writing love letters to the Iranian regime.

SICKO!

You're up kinda late, Gugs. Were you asking why we didn't hand him over to the Afghanis? How do you know he wasn't? They captured this guy last year. How do you know where he's been?

As to why we went to the trouble, I can tell you if you can follow along. This guy was a close confidant of OBL. From the very beginning the US has said that we won't rest til we get the guys involved. Is this news to you? And you say kidnapped. That's a strange way of putting it but you are a strange guy. Captured is the correct word. What happens to him after that is nobody's business but ours. We got him and we're going to do anything we want to him and if you don't like it you may hop up and down and holler, but nobody cares.

Gugs, do you know what they call someone who plays fair when the other guy doesn't? Give up?. Sucker. That's it, Sloopy, sucker. We'll do what we've got to do. If that offends your delicate sensibilities then you have a problem you should take up with your pastor or your mother. They are the only ones who care what you think. They may not either.

Why is he being sent to Gitmo and not put on trial in his own country? what the f*ck happened to international law?

2.

He has a basic human right not to be in Gitmo in the first place you moron same as you. In fact there is a better case for sending you to Gitmo for terrorist funding than there is for him so why are your rights protected and not his???

Why don't you do something about it then? Do you think that being a 'keyboard commando' actually counts as an accomplishment?

It merely looks like you are trying to rationalize being a 'non-player' by replacing actions with words.

Go ahead, relieve your frustration. I'll be gone, it's St. Patrick's Day weekend so there will be parties, parades, rivers will be dyed green, flags, dances, toasts will be made, celebrations ongoing thru Monday night (or early Tuesday morning). ;)

You'll be spending your time ranging against your own 'failure to perform', and trying to make it look like someone else' fault.

Happy St. Patrick's Day (admittedly early) everyone!

Let's start from the bottom. Osama and President Bush were business partners? Really? What was the name of the business they were in?

And then, out of the blue comes this:

"GWB USED TO BE A CLOSE CONFIDENT OF OBL"

One assumes you mean confidant and not confident. If you're going to shout in caps you should mind your spelling. Idiot mistakes like that don't do your arguments any good.

Besides the rudimentary spelling error, you compound your efforts by the content of the shouted statement. You say that President Bush was a close confident (sic) of the President. That's a good one. Let's not spend too much time dwelling on your delusions but suffice it to say that your statement is utterly vacuous. 1988 Osama begins recruiting for Al Qaeda. 1998 G.W.Bush and his group buy the Texas Rangers baseball team. What do these two items have in common? Well, nothing. Osama and W didn't know each other even existed.

F off, it's hard for me not to like you. I'll tell you why. So, if I call you, from time to time, say, a lying son of bi#*h, it's just for entertainment value, nothing personal. Your delusions are so complete it's breathtaking. Most people are rational beings, but that can get boring after a while. So, when a guy like you comes along with his own unique cosmology, I have to admit, it's kind of interesting reading. A 'glimpse into the mind of the hopelessly goofy' sort of thing. W was OBL's confidant? That is just beautiful. I had no idea, and I suspect that I am not alone in this, that Osama was a baseball fan. Who knew? I know that the CIA has their hands full airbrushing the 'Texas Rangers' from Osama's robes when he makes one of his threatening speeches but how close and intimate this relationship was is news, big news, to me.

As to 'held for a year without a trial,' what is that supposed to mean? This isn't a guy who held up a liquor store. He's not a criminal in the civil sense of the word. But, these are trivial deta

#18 contd.

But, these are trivial details compared with this. Are you ready? Mohammad Rahim was captured in Pakistan by the Pakistanis. If you want to know why he wasn't tried in Pakistan, ask the Pakistanis.

But once again we are not at the critical point which is this. The terrorists play by their own set of rules. The rule of law, due process etc., mean nothing to them. They torture, mutilate, and behead their captives, video the decapitations and then publicize it. If you think for even a second that we are going to play fair with these jokers then you are even more deluded than I thought. We don't care about their rights anymore than they care about ours. What we care about is capturing or killing them. And that is what we intend to do.

We are not going to read them their Miranda rights and tell them that they don't have to say anything until they are represented by an attorney. We're not going to give them a phone call. We aren't going to allow his interrogation to be monitored by outside interests. We are going to keep him behind bars in Gitmo until we decide otherwise.

We are playing to win, Cosmo, not to play fairsies. You don't like that, obviously and you are free to voice your opinion. To reiterate, we recognize no rules when dealing with the terrorists. Our goal is simple. We intend to destroy them. If you don't like the way we are going about it, tough.

Diathi. I suspect this individuals human rights have been and will continue to be abused in Guantanamo. As he is a "suspect" why is he being held there? When it comes to law, will it be militery law and all that implies? If so perhaps he should'nt be there.
57Nomad. The US (Cia) and Osame Bin Liner were indeed in cahoots during the Russian invasion of Afganistan. Where do you think the American weapons came from?

As to the detention of the terrorist at Guantanamo, you are mistaken. You ask, if he is a 'suspect' why is being imprisoned. This is why. The only people who use the word suspect is because the articles writer as well as the headline writer put the word there themselves. He is not a suspect, as in maybe he did it and maybe he didn't. The papers are legally constrained from using absolutes like this; "The terrorist, OBL's sidekick and fellow islamofascist was caught trying to buy explosives to kill coalition forces."

That would be an accurate description of the actual events. Anytime you see the words suspect, suspected, alleged, or allegedly you may he fairly sure that those words were put their at the insistence of someones legal department and not because they are 'only suspected.'

As to why he is at Gitmo, it's simple. He is a close associate of OBL's and a fellow terrorist. So, because of that we have him locked up at Gitmo and he's going to stay there until we are good and ready to let him go.

Are you from GB? Have you forgotten 7/7? Who do you think was behind the brutal slaughter of your people? Do you intend to continue blaming everyone but the perpetrators? Dr. Darwin would like to have a word with you.

Hey 57 Cool yer jets. The reason all of the detainees were shipped to Guantanamo was because the US made it known that if they wer'nt, then the government responsible would be held in poor light. (and whatever that entails)
As for your crap about dealing with terrorists. If you as a country had been a little more pragmatic, and a little les pushy, much of what you see now might not have taken place.
All this blustering and blowing only get you further in the sh1t.
