American actor Sean Penn has visited Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
Venezuela's state-run news agency reports that Penn, pictured, accompanied Mr Chavez during the inspection of a natural gas pipeline yesterday. Mr Chavez has praised Penn for his stance against the war in Iraq, but he did not mention Penn's visit during a televised address.

Sean Penn is a class act and not afraid to express his disgrace with the American government. Way to go Sean.

Sean Penn is a tool. Personally, I like Brad Pitt in "Seven Years in Tibet"

Take a look at the film 'War on Democracy' by Australian director John Pilger, it won best documentary at the 2008 'One World Awards'

"Award winning journalist John Pilger examines the role of Washington in America's manipulation of Latin American politics during the last 50 years leading up to the struggle by ordinary people to free themselves from poverty and racism. Since the mid 19th Century Latin America has been the 'backyard' of the US, a collection of mostly vassal states whose compliant and often brutal regimes have reinforced the 'invisibility' of their majority peoples. The film reveals similar CIA policies to be continuing in Iraq, Iran and Lebanon. The rise of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez despite ongoing Washington backed efforts to unseat him in spite of his overwhelming mass popularity, is democratic in a way that we have forgotten or abandoned in the west. True Democracy being a solid 80% voter turnout in support of Chavez in over 6 elections"

Chavez better watch who he hangs out with... Sean Penn is a harbinger of doom. Just ask Saddam. I think he and Danny Glover may be deep cover for the CIA.

#2 Ben More,Edinburgh - "Personally, I like Brad Pitt in "Seven Years in Tibet"" - That is the film about Heinrich Harrer, a member of the Nazi party and SS. Strange film for you to like; perhaps you are actually a closet "Brownshirt" like Harrer before 1938.

The US has used Latin America for cheap labor for over 50 years. In order to do that, they have stunted their education, economics, technology and politics in order to make it necessary for Latin Americans to cross into the US to earn some money doing remedial jobs that no North American would do for minimum wage.
After 50 years of US induced non-development for Latin American, the US has found an even cheaper alternative... China.
Now the borders in Mexico go up and Immigration expedites it's deportations. As a result, the vaccum is filled by people like Hugo Cesar Chavez who does have the ear of the people of Latin America and is called a tyrant dictator by the US media, but a liberator and savior by the Latin Americans.
