Pro-democracy activists jailed

COURTS in Burma sentenced 14 members of the National League for Democracy party to 65-year prison terms yesterday. More than 50 pro-democracy activists have now been jailed this week.
The 14 included members of a student group who played prominent roles ahead of pro-democracy protests last year.
