Portuguese prime minister re-elected

PORTUGAL'S prime minister Jose Socrates has held on to power after Sunday's elections, but his Socialist party has been stripped of an absolute majority.
Mr Socrates left his options for a coalition open in a victory speech, but the process of forming a government could be further complicated by local elections on 11 October.
