SARAH Palin, the former US vice-presidential candidate for the Republican Party, has announced she is quitting office as governor of Alaska.
Analysts believe the surprise move may pave the way for a full-blown run for the presidential bid for the White House in 2012. Mrs Palin, John McCain's running mate in last November's election defeat, said she would be resigning at the end of this month, although offered no reason.

Mrs Palin hastily called a news conference yesterday at her home in Wasilla – giving such short notice that only a few reporters actually made it – and then refused to take questions.

She gave no indication of her future plans, saying: "We are not retreating, we are advancing in a different direction.

"We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time."

Is not this terrible news? A clever, working class woman, already governor of a state, would like to run for president. HOW outrageous. It ought to be banned. Who does she think she is? Cut down all the tall poppies immediately. Only PC blokes approved of by the bien pensant are allowed to have ambition. Back to the kitchen you brazen hussy!

If Sarah was living anywhere else bar America she would be an absolute nobody.

Why the insinuations above? Maybe she is just fed up with the dirty tactics of the media, the constant hounding by a pack of journo hyenas who won't ask real questions where they should be asked, like where's Obama's birth certificate and where was he born?
