North Korea shows film of 'healthy' Kim

FRESH images released yesterday by North Korea show its leader, Kim Jong Il, appearing fit while touring a military unit amid questions over his health.
The pictures, aired on state-run North Korean TV and distributed by South Korea's unification ministry, show Mr Kim smiling during a visit to an air force unit. He is dressed in a winter parka, brown fur hat, thick gloves and sunglasses.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency reported the military visit late on Sunday, saying Mr Kim praised the airmen for their diligence and urged them to remain disciplined in the face of enemy "aggression". It did not say when Mr Kim made the visit or where the unit was located.

South Korean and US officials say Mr Kim suffered a stroke in August, but North Korea denies the leader, 66, who has not named a successor, was ever ill.

Indeed, #1. I wonder if this new footage will show Mr Kim having pulled another one of his miracles out of the hat and suddenly become 20 years younger as well as healthier?

Whilst we are on the subject of distortion, lies, propganda and the like, I notice that the Hootsmon Pravda Branch and Xinhua Branch censors have removed all comments about the Israeli story.

What is the idea behind this? We know that the Hootsmon doesn't like any adverse comments made about their political masters in the New Labour Sleaze and Corruption Party, but why are they protecting the Israelis against any adverse comments?

What is the hidden agenda behind this? Does the Hootsmon have Israeli paymasters as well as Sleaze Party paymasters?

Even a film of a "healthy" Kim is still a frightening sight - if it is recent. For all we know it could be a double or Kim has been dead for months and we will know in North Korea's own good time.

Paranoid are we? Your comments smack of a conspiracy theory and I wonder at times from which planet you are broadcasting - or if you are posting from this solar system.

But your comments are very occasionally and passingly amusing and must be taken with a truckload of salt.
