Man held over torch threat

A CHINESE man has been arrested for stating on the internet that he planned to grab the Olympic torch during its relay through eastern China, police said yesterday.
The 28-year-old, identified only as Tang, was detained in Zhenjiang in north-east Jiangsu province for spreading rumours online and disturbing public order, said an official in the local public security bureau. Tang wrote in a chatroom that he wanted to organise a group to grab the torch when it arrives in Nanjing on 24 May.
