ISRAEL has ignored mounting international calls for a ceasefire, vowing not to stop its crippling ten-day assault until "peace and tranquillity" was achieved in towns in the line of Palestinian rocket fire.
Israeli forces seized control of buildings and attacked smuggling tunnels and mosques in a campaign against Hamas militants that took an increasing toll on civilians. Three young brothers were reported to have been killed during shelling and Palestinian wounded filled hospital corridors.

Three Israeli soldiers were killed last night when an errant tank shell hit their position outside Gaza City, the Israeli military said, and 24 were wounded, one critically and three seriously.

The incident brought the death toll among Israeli soldiers since the invasion began to four.

Five civilians were killed when a shell fired by an Israeli ship hit their house on the Gaza shore, hospital officials said. Palestinians said Israeli attacks intensified before dawn today.

Arab delegates met the United Nations Security Council in New York yesterday, urging members to adopt a resolution calling for an immediate end to the Israeli attacks.

If no-one stops Hamas from carrying out its terror attacks on Israel, Israel has a right to launch an offensive with a view to stopping these attacks once & for all. Good luck Israel!

Well said 1 . Has anyone noticed the rag bag of lefties and anti-American drop outs who congregate at the Mound with their " peace " banners . A fat lot they care about innocents on each side . Where were they when Hamas attacked Israel ? Silent . Funny how they never mention left wing terrorists .

(1&2) I wonder what the yanks would have done if we had invaded Eire with 300 Chieften Tanks in the 1970's-80's and went on a rampage? Which according to the Israli mentality is perfectly acceptable, they get away with it because they hold the purse strings in UK & US.

LHTT..Hamas rockets do NOT fall harmlessly into Israel.. People are killed and maimed, homes destroyed, and children live with the knowledge that they have 15-30 seconds to reach a bomb shelter EVERY DAY for 8 years..
They are launched indiscriminately with one goal.. to destroy Israel..
Hamas has never lived up to a truce.. they have broken all of them.

Postmark55..There was no Arab state or nation called "Palestine" in the Middle East in 1948... or for that matter ever.
There was no nation that Jews could steal or occupy.
For 400 years until WWI, the Middle East was ruled by the Turks...1553-1922.
There was no Palestine, No Jordan, no Syria, and no Iraq. They were all Created by the European powers out of the Turkish Empire.

The Jews have lived continuously there for 3700 years. Since the 19th Century, the Jews were a majority of the population in Jerusalem.
Israel has a much right to exist as any of these Arab States.

It is Facts that you can't change. Go look them up before you allow your hatred to infect the rest of the facts that can't be changed.

Bele's Bane.. It is old and tired.. that is YOUR one sided version of Arab Propaganda... There are 2 sides to every story.. Yours is full of hatred. Israel has to start from HERE..NOW..

A member nation of the UN has been attacked for the past 8 years on a daily basis by an organization of thugs.. Israel is not going to turn the other cheek any more.. they just want the rockets and mortars to end. They have every right to defend themselves.
