Detainees return to terrorism

THE Pentagon said yesterday that 61 former detainees from its military prison
at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, appear to have returned to terrorism since their release from custody. Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said 18 former detainees are confirmed and 43 suspected of "returning to the fight." He said the figures showed a higher rate of recidivism than seen previously.

And the uk Gov't is quietly preparing to take some of these terrorists into the uk.

So once again the British publics rights are being given second place to accomodate suspected thugs who are 'frightened' to return to their homeland.

I and many others are 'frightened' OUR rights to a life without threat in our own country do we have no rights.

It can't be good for any detainee to be tortured for years at Guantanamo Bay without proper access to a fair court, a judge and jury. Yet here we have all these mindless empty headed people condemning them because of media groups like Fox News led by sicko Bill O'Reilly. All the anti male haters will be here shortly baying for blood. If women were in Gitmo it would be a different story.

What a surprise eh - terrorists return to terrorism??? Let's ship all the GUANTANAMO detainees to say PHILADELPHIA, or LOS ANGELES, or CHICAGO, or TIAJUANA, or even PARIS - 'peaceful' cities all. Or how about to GAZA - know they know peace there when there not too busy firing rockets/mortars into ISRAEL or ducking ISRAELI tank rounds-or gunship fire!!! THE SOLUTION - THE UNITED STATES MILITARY SHOULD STOP TAKING PRISONERS!!! Or maybe we could send all those 'peaceful' unjustly held prisoners to CHECHNYA - nice place except for 'MAD'VLAD and his RUSSKY THUGS/MOBSTERS!!!

Send the Uighur residents caught in terrorist training camps back to China.Unlike Australia or UK, they would be welcomed with open arms.

The genetic stupidity of those who released these folk is mind numbing and would be funny,were it not so serious.
To those who blame Guantanamo for their extremism,take a hike.They were radicalized (I believe is the latest PC excuse for what they were doing 'in word')long before the ended up in Guantanamo.They are not "innocent civilians" they are dyed in the wool terrorists. The Uighur Chinese were captured in terrorist training camps. But of course they were only their to clean the place etc,etc. It is time to wake up to REALITY! Islam is at war with the rest of the none muslim world.Not because of happened post 9/11 etc.That is the lame excuse trotted out and believed by some of those commenting here for their actions.Goebbels would have had orgasms over you lot.Gullible? Doesn't even come close.

Never charged,,never tried, never found guilty of anything but held for years in disgusting conditions.

How do they know that they've returned to terrorisim..if they actually have proof why haven't the "terrorists" been rearrested and/or charged..

#8 One in particular killed himself in a suicide bomb attack.Do you want the bits arrested? and #7They were never fans of anyone other than their fellow extremists, before or after their time in Guantanamo.Captured in terrorist training camps is enough for any sane thinking people.You of course would wait until they have killed your family perhaps, before doing something.It is as pointless as saying "Ah! well the guy (about to stick a knife at your daughter's throat, prior to raping her and then murdering her, "has never been found guilty of anything"! Ambulances at the bottom of the cliff appear to be the norm in soon to learn the hard way UK.
Of course the UK will welcome them with open arms,like they have done already. George Galloway and his cronies, will turn them into instant celebrities.

gus1940..What disgusting conditions? They are in a cell, they have "recreation time" outside the cell. They are provided 3 meals a day, prayer mats, Korans, have all their health needs met, and their meals are not ordinary prison food. There is a Red Cross on the premises.. so, they live better the prisoners in American jails.

PR is the problem with Gitmo.. just another form of BDS..

Where the proof that any information given under duress saved any lives? Where's the proof? You know and I know that all the detainees there were tortured, it's now all over the world press. What newsgroup do you follow to be so ill informed?
