Dalai Lama calls for prudence

THE Dalai Lama yesterday warned Tibetan leaders in exile to act prudently, after calls to push for independence if China refuses to grant autonomy soon.
At the end of a conference in India, 500 delegates agreed to maintain the Dalai Lama's strategy of measured compromise.
