ISRAELI incursions into Palestinian territory were condemned by Gordon Brown yesterday as he pledged an additional £30 million support for the Palestinians.
On his first visit to Jerusalem as Prime Minister, Mr Brown demanded "justice" for the Palestinian people and expressed his dismay at witnessing the massive security barrier dividing the West Bank.

But he also demanded an end to suicide bombings and rocket attacks against Israel.

Mr Brown pledged extra money to help the Palestinian Authority with economic reconstruction and called for the Israeli occupation to end.

Having passed the massive Israeli security barrier on the way to the meeting in Bethlehem, Mr Brown said: "As a child, I learned about Bethlehem from the Bible as a symbol of peace and a symbol of hope. But today, the wall here is graphic evidence of the urgent need for justice for the Palestinian people and an end to the occupation and the need for a viable Palestinian state."
