Well, it is an election year. #1-Lynne, watch out for Ike,OK? I'm on weekend standby for what's left of Hanna.

I will, and thank you for the concern. Hanna is bypassing me, but my daughter is in SC on standby too. You take care thru Hanna. I really believe that Ike will downgrade or turn . My markers for hurricanes have not shown themselves yet, and it may be a tad early for them for Ike, and they have never been wrong. When they show up, it's because a hurricane is coming. They haven't shown up yet. Usually they pile up food on my patio to get thru the hurricane..there is nothing here..no pile of food. They have never lied!! And if you promise not to laugh (yeah right) they are ants.
Living down here, I found that if they pile up dead bodies, marching across the patio, and some carrying food, that will get them through the storm. So far nothing. Now you can laugh. But it's true. So 2dogs please take care, and get prepared. Make sure the batteries are fresh!!, and you have water and canned goods. Take it from one who knows.

#4 Lynne I have a friend on the Turks and Caicos. He is enjoying the experience so far.
As for Al-Qaeda. It is amazing that many in the west have not grasped yet, that Islam transcends all loyalties to countries. I don't trust them because they are Iraqis, Afghanis,Saudis,Yemeni etc, but because they are muslim. There are those who are committing atrocities and the muted response from their bretheren speaks volumes. Now we have Pakistanis threatening to open fire on US troops who attack Al-Qaeda in the tribal areas in Pakistan. If the Pakistanis' did their own work there would be no need to shoot into or make incursions into Pakistan. Listen to the squeals. Yet the Russians do it in South Ossetia and Abkhasia and there is hardly a murmur.Amazing.
Stay safe, stay well and above all stay happy all those in the Hurricane belt.

These "threats" from Al-Qaeda frequently cause far more economic turmoil and civil disturbance than actual attacks. However, they also create a lose-lose situation for the authorities in the west - they are damned if they ignore the threats and an attack occurs and they are damned if they react and impose restrictions on our civil liberty.

Lynne, I see Ike has been downgraded to 3 but the projected path seems to be wobbling around a lot more than usual. The latest has it shooting up the gulf towards - yep - New Orleans! I think we're going to hear a lot an awful lot about this storm over the next few days!

Another video, bought and paid for by the CIA or the White House...
I wonder where Agent Bin Laden is working from? He must be the most protected member of the CIA in the history of the organisation.

Jacqueline Hyde I can't say I hope they get it and not me!!..They certainly have been through enough.with some luck, it might go over the mountains in Cuba and break apart or at the least downgrade to a 1 or go back to a tropical storm. I agree, about hearing a lot. living here, I get hourly messages from Emergency Email on weather when tropical storms or hurricanes or tornados come. (I have never been through one of those).

Dragonhead... if the Pakistanis would stop making deals with the terrorists, and go after them..then Al Qaeda would be on the run from there too.

Thanks for the good wishes. I see it is now a Cat. 2 and veering away from me. I expect we will get the outer bands again, and I hope it just breaks up altogether. (My ants never lie)!!

I found it amusing that people who wont open fire on the taleban threaten to open fire on US troops. Those claims by the Pakistani government are for public consumption. You can bet that the American troops that came across the border did so at the REQUEST of the Pakistanis. Classic hammer and anvil.

#11 and #12 Amazing place Pakistan. I agree with both of you. Hot pursuit etc is a touchy subject, but as you said, if they cleaned up their own mess there would be no need for 'cross border incursions'. Absolutely classic Hammer and Anvil tactics. The new PM Zadari, has "mental health problems" and has never been a politician. Interesting times ahead with his finger on the nuclear trigger. On the border issue again: Terrorists respect no international borders, only when they have crossed them. Then it is "Oh you can't come in here and chase us murdering scum". Sometimes we have to do bad things to do good. This is one such time. They should be dragged out from under any rock on the planet, wherever they may be.There needs to be an international concensus on the pursuit of murderers of whatever nationality. Nations who then object to cross border 'hot pursuits', are in effect actively supporting the terrorists. No place to hide except of course in plain view in the UK. Strange that!
