24 injured as carnival ride at fair collapses

California: Twenty-four people were injured, three of them seriously, when a carnival ride carrying mostly children collapsed at a fair early today.
The badly hurt were airlifted to hospitals in Modesto and Sacramento.

All the children on the ride were injured in some way in the incident.

Pakistan: Suspected Taliban militants have released Pakistan's envoy to Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin three months after he was kidnapped in the country's Khyber tribal region.
