12 people die in landslide as typhoon hits

PHILIPPINE officials say flash floods and landslides have killed at least 12 people after Typhoon Fengshen slammed into the country's south.
Provincial administrator Norie Unas said ten people drowned after a swollen river overflowed its banks and swept away three houses early Saturday in South Upi township in southern Maguindanao province.

Five others are missing.

Unas says the area sustained widespread damage from the typhoon.
