DOCTOR Who star David Tennant was left wishing he could really travel back in time after an embarrassing tape of an early audition turned up.
The 15-year-old tape shows Tennant, from Bathgate, auditioning for a part in BBC comedy drama Takin' Over The Asylum, wearing a baggy purple sweater and sporting swept-back hair.

Despite his embarrassment, Tennant agreed to allow the footage to be used on a new DVD of the series.

Dr Who should know that the correct terminology is "space-time travel". If you travelled back or forward in time as little as a second, you would end up in space due to the Earth's movement. You need to travel in both time and space in order to remian on the planet.

Just a thought...

Hence the name of his machine, Time and Relative Dimensions in Space (TARDIS), maybe...

You mean to tell me he's not really a time traveller......he's an actor. I thought Dr Who was a documentry along the same lines as The Office. I feel cheated.

Don't worry he's real. I'm also pretty sure that a Dalek just stole my sandwitch, it's cool though he didn't get the time travel thing right and ended up in space, got what he deserved that little blighter.

RE: "Hence the name of his machine, Time and Relative Dimensions in Space."

The name has nothing to do with the effect. It is a reference to the fact that it can do both (eg. move a hundred years into the future and a billion miles across the universe) and also to the fact that it is bigger on the inside than the outside - not to the fact that it can move in time while remaining on the same part of the planet.

I'll shut up now and pretend I have a life, before people realise that I am as sad as the person who originally pointed out that 'the correct terminology is "space-time travel"'

Of course David agreed to include this. His audition was spectacular, as anyone who's actually WATCHED it can plainly see. He was meant to play Campbell Bain in that movie, and if you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

Frankly, he looks quite fetching with his hair longer like that. Not one thing to be embarrassed about, I say.

Go David!

5*****, I didn't know you were so familiar with space time travel. I'll bet you are black belt, 3rd Dan Quantum Mechanics!

he's the Doctor. Not Dr Who.

And he's real. I saw him.
