CONCESSIONARY rail travel for pensioners and disabled people in West Lothian is under review.
Rail fares to Edinburgh are currently subsidised, costing the local authority £110,000 a year.

Over 139,000 trips were made last year. But the ruling SNP administration has suggested the subsidy could end as part of a £4.4 million package of savings.

Users can travel to Edinburgh for £1 return with trips to Glasgow charged at half-rate.

Council leader Peter Johnston said: "We are going to have wide consultation on it before any decision is reached."

How can you justifiably charge the pensioners when you are aware they make very little money to start with? And to charge the disabled is just horrid.
