These gadgets are great. I have been told by my automatic navigator to drive through a housing scheme, the wrong way up a dual carriageway, and attempt a U turn on a motorway. I just resisted the temptation and argued with her. (female voice, nothing against women navigating). However I did program in a 2,500 km journey to my son's house out in the bush. After travelling down gravel tracks, pine forests and normal roads, she took me to within 20 metres of his door. Also advised on the nearest public toilet and fuel stop. You really cannot get any better than that, just treat her as a normal human being that makes the occassional mistakes and has inbuilt flashing blue lights.

It normally takes me 12 minutes to get to the airport. Recently a taxi driver showing off his latest sat nav got me there in 25 mins (no traffic, but it found some)

Do you think an irate Chinese driver was trying to hit the satellite guiding his sat-nav?

Should someone as stupid as that be allowed to drive? Or even be outside without a minder?

The usual result for not using common sense is death. Why someone would accept a machine telling you what/where/when to do something without applying common sense is just asking for it.

Totally agree with No 2. great assistance is provided by navigation equipment - with occasional errors (usually glaring hence can be ignored). Don't blame the Gadget - blame the dopey driver.
