THE best snow conditions for 15 years could see nearly every ski run in Scotland open this weekend.
While heavy snowfalls coupled with 100mph winds in recent days brought chaos to the roads, they delivered perfect conditions to the slopes, and it will be the first time since the early 1990s that all five ski resorts will have opened together so
early in the season.

Marian Austin, who chairs the Scottish Snowsports Marketing Group, said: "In recent years, there has been relatively little snow so early in the season, which resulted in pressure on all services at the ski areas which were open, and – inevitably – some queues.

"This weekend and into next week, we expect to be able to welcome thousands of people.

"The weather is also looking good for the weekend, with sun forecast for Friday and Saturday for all ski areas, and possibly more snow on Sunday."

Ms Austin, who is also managing director of the Nevis Range centre, near Fort William, said conditions were "amazing" and added: "By Saturday, I think you will be able to ski on nearly every run in Scotland.

"It bodes well for the season as there is a good depth to the snow. Even if we get the inevitable thaw, it should withstand it."

Meanwhile, power firms were last night expecting to reconnect the last 400 of the 22,000 homes cut off during Wednesday's storms.

So man made global warming must've been a fraud.

http://www.infowars.com/articles/ps/global_warming_tax_scam_kicks_in.htm

The British government is raising almost double the revenue in so called "green taxes" that it needs to offset the social cost of CO2 emissions according to a new report. An accompanying opinion poll also reveals that nearly two-thirds of people think politicians are using the green issue as an excuse to tax more.

No comments from the great greenwashed on this article then - they will just deny it has happened or blame global warming for it.

Global Cooling? Saudi Arabia covered with snow in coldest winter for 20 years

RIA Novosti
Friday January 11, 2008

Northern parts of Saudi Arabia are covered with snow with schools, mosques and administrative bodies paralyzed, local media reported Friday.

The oil-rich kingdom is being hit with subzero temperatures and snow storms with freezing winds of up to 50 km/h (30mp/h). Some regions have been experiencing problems with water supplies as pipes have frozen, and livestock has died from the cold.

What happened to global warming?

Off to the mountains to enjoy the snow before some journalist tries to scare the c-c-c-carbon crap out of all of us.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Al is making a mint out of the global warming scare. Of course, this is largely unreported by the Scottish media.

Comments #1 - #5, the usual kneejerk contrarian BS from folks who in an earlier era, would be screaming loud for proponents of the 'earth is round, not flat' theory to be put on trial for blasphemy. Head firmly in the sand, every one of them. Eedjits.

That added to the horrendous freeze up in China just further proof of GW. That doesn't make sense! Let me think! Extreme weather events are consistent with GW theories. That's it! we get more, colder spells due to GW. Phew! had me worried for a while!

ya bunch of clowns. an isolated snow storm does not mean no global warming. you have to look at the trend over the past 20 years which evidences the world is getting seriously warmer, to the extent snow caps are melting, water levels rising, and we are doing serious damage to our world. I am a realist, and listen to the evidence before my eyes, and science. I have 2 kids' futures to look out for, and hate to see the complacent attitude dispayed in the earlier postings. Wake up and smell the roses - while there still are some.
