Tribute to Scots Guard killed by IRA sniper

A SCOTS Guardsman killed by an IRA sniper in Northern Ireland more than 35 years ago was remembered at a military service yesterday.
George Lockhart was killed in Londonderry in 1972.

After a five-year campaign by the Dundee and Angus branch of the Scots Guards Association, a plaque in his memory has been added to the war memorial in Arbroath, where he was born.

The Earl of Dalhousie, president of the local Scots Guards Association, led a tribute ceremony and march through the town.
