THE high street retailer TK Maxx has been forced to withdraw a walking stick from sale after it was found to conceal a 20-inch sword.
The blade was discovered by a customer, and the company said its product buyers had been unaware that the 35-inch "artisan" wooden staff contained a weapon.

And exactly haow many did they sell before the sword was discovered?
Are they going to try a recall?

Don't count on a recall. THey are in it for the money -obviously - and the more filthy lucre they can extract from the consumer the better.

Most of those retailers have no moral obligations whatsoever.

Isn't this the same lot who "didn't realise" that a coat or something they were selling came with a free Swiss Army Knife? I think their stock control bods need a bit of a shake up.

Anyway, the walking stick sword was the weapon of choice for skinheads on football terraces in the 1970s.... then some switched on copper dared to ask himself the question as to why a fit and strong young man was carrying a walking stick (doh!).

Another example is in A Clockwork Orange. Alex de Large carried a walking stick which came apart to reveal a dagger.
