Strict Ivan Jellicoe,
Renfrew 16/03/2009 09:52:09
A family have just lost a son - a fine young man in his prime.
" 'Local councillor Peter Carlin said: "It's Simon. It is a fantastic relief for his family . . . ' "
Someone will need to explain that to me.

1...The choice of words are a bit tactless..his family probably knew in their hearts he was gone...they will be relieved at least that they have found him..unlike the many people who go missing and never reappear...they can now bring their son home and give him a proper burial.
Bravo to the the people who continued to hunt for and who found this man, and to his father who had to purchase the equipment to find his son...but isnt it sad that he had to go these lengths to do this and that his son...a naval cadet...was not found by the police....
It seems somehow strange and tactless that he is referred to twice as "The dead man" in this article...his name would suffice....
