Rushdie novel is prize favourite

SALMAN Rushdie's novel Midnight's Children is favourite to win the Best of the Booker prize after being shortlisted for the award yesterday.
Six books are in the running for the prize, chosen from the 41 Booker winners over the years.

Does anyone actually read Salman's P!sh or is he just famous on the grounds of insulting a religion ? I don't think that even the fatwah-mongers bothered to read the "Satanic Verses"
