A HUMAN rights group has pledged to take action against a police force which tried to prosecute a teenager for branding Scientology a "cult".
The 16-year-old faced prosecution after refusing to get rid of a placard which said "Scientology is not a religion, it is a dangerous cult" at a protest outside the church's headquarters in London on 10 May.

He was told that his sign breached the Public Order Act, which makes it an offence to display a sign that is "threatening, insulting or abusive", but yesterday the Crown Prosecution Service said no action would be taken against the teenager.

The human rights group Liberty, whose lawyers have been advising the boy, is now considering action against the City of London Police.

It is shocking and shameful that the City of London Police were hob-nobbing with the Scientology cult's brainwashed celebrities and other nincompoops. Why not solve some crimes, or perhaps just keep order? Even worse, that they would remain so infatuated (brainwashed?) that they would then take measures against a boy who was not only expressing the truth, but also expressing the general community opinion about Scientology, as well as quoting a ruling from the Old Bailey about Scientology.

The police charge everyone nowadays, even for the most petty of reasons. That way they can inflate the statistics for crimes solved and it makes them look as though they are solving more cases, I think its called ethical reporting. These "crime" reports are sent to an overworked Procurator Fiscal who thankfully discards them as utter trivia. The accused is left afterwards with a very sour taste for an organisation that used to be held in high esteem.

You can't even trust the polis. They'll arrest you just for looking at them funny. Anything to make the arrest records look good!

And don't tell me it doesn't happen. I've witnessed it firsthand!

Btw ... as far as I know ... Scientology IS a dangerous cult. It is not a religion!
