Landmark towers to be demolished

A PAIR of landmark cooling towers next to the M1 will be demolished later this month.
The 250ft Tinsley Towers stand just a few metres from the southbound carriageway of the road as it crosses the Don Valley between Sheffield and Rotherham.

No doubt there will be a group of nostalgia driven nuggets who reckon that these things should be preserved as national monuments---in much the same way as the gasometers at Granton.
