SCOTTISH pop star Calvin Harris was escorted out of the X-Factor studio last night after "stage-jacking" controversial singing twins Jedward.
The Dumfries-born singer-songwriter raced on to the stage – with a pineapple on his head to mock their hairstyles – while the Irish brothers John and Edward Grimes performed a version of Queen's Under Pressure.

It was initially thought that the
stage intruder was a member of the public. However, Harris was later identified as the culprit.

He had been due to appear on the sister show The Xtra Factor.

An X Factor spokesman said the musician, who collaborated with rap star Dizzee Rascal on No 1 single Dance With Me in 2008, was removed from the studio by security guards.

He said: "Apparently Calvin is a huge John and Edward fan, but it's unacceptable to storm the stage while an act is performing," the spokesman said.

The judges commended the Grimes brothers for keeping their cool in spite of Harris's antics.

Meanwhile, X-Factor judge Simon Cowell praised the twins, saying their latest performance was the best yet. He claimed, however, that he still could not judge them "in the real world".

He added: "There's no point me getting angry or serious about this; if the public like you, they like you."

Yer Karaoke contest is a farce. ALL cover versions and no originality. Old hat. You cannot blame the contestants for trying to become pro musicians but without hearing their own material instead of regurgitated covers there is no way their talent can actually be judged in any depth.

It's simply an easy ticket for ex-A&R man Cowell to save him looking for REAL bands and musicians who can do their OWN material. Any singer or guitarist or keyboard player can do cover versions but in all honesty, it's flippin boring.

In fact anyone can come up with the idea of auditioning would be pop stars on the telly, but, of course most people would be told where to get off by the TV companies unless they were part of the network to start with.

When I ran my studios I can remember A & R people coming up from London and one of them maybe was Cowell if I remember correctly. Two guys appeared one from Polydor and the other from Chrysalis. The other may have been called Simon as well but it was in the late 80s early 90s so I am not sure who was who.

I phoned the A & R guys back and said to one I actually got through to if we organised videoing bands who were into it would they, the A & R people of MAJOR Labels, be willing to pay a token fee to cover the cost of the videos as they seemed to want us to find bands for their perusal.

The answer was they would be glad to look at the videos but not willing to pay for them. Say no more.

What gave you the idea for your TV shows Simon?

Spot on Fitba, the show is absolute tripe,

Sting hit the nail on the head when he said " the show was disappointing and the panel had no particular talent"

The McDonald Bros turned up at a local caravan park. Despite the fancy name it's still a caravan park with an "entertainment complex".

It's the kind of place with posters adveritising "super singing sensation [fill in name] from Peterhead". Or "superbly funny comic from Broxburn".

The circuit for would-be's and has-beens. Jedward - your future awaits.

9# They may be a winner in mind but last weeks fiasco proved manipulation of the public can be flawed. This years X Factor is very poor. No real talent there at all.

4 Fifi,

Call it a lucky break Fifi. Imagine being involved wi all that mince

I did play all over Scotland and even N E England and it was a right laugh at times.

That was before a couple of friends and I built the studios that were used by thousands of musicians before Glasgow Council decided it was interfering with their plans, if ye get ma drift.

Commercial? Na Fifi, I am more of a progressive guy. I can write and play all the instruments on simple pop tunes and more complex poly rhythmic stuff.

Cowell would probably say I was hopeless.

Can you sing FiFi? Play the Guitar? Play the keyboards? Write songs? Play Fitba?
