TONY Blair is to further his interest in religion by teaching classes on "faith and globalisation" at the prestigious Yale University in an initiative linked to the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, due to be launched later this year.
Academics at Yale School of Management and Divinity are working with Mr Blair to finalise details of the course. A source close to the former prime minister said he was "delighted" to be taking on the new challenge.

The Connecticut university's
president, Richard Levin, said staff were "honoured" Mr Blair would be joining them. His pay is expected to be nominal, and it has yet to be decided how much time the job will involve. "His role in the Middle East will be unaffected," the source added.

Since leaving Number 10 last summer, Mr Blair has taken on a range of posts, including becoming Middle East envoy for the so-called Quartet of powers – the US, the UN, the EU and Russia.

Mr Blair converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism last year. He said faith played a major part in some of his most controversial decisions, including sending troops to invade Iraq.

He has earned millions of pounds with consultancies at investment bank JP Morgan and financial services giant Zurich. A deal with Random House for his memoirs is thought to be worth about £5 million.

There has been speculation that Mr Blair wants the soon-to-be-created role of EU president.

In other words, he was all for launching a latter day crusade against the Moslems. Just like his fellow war criminal, Bush.

I held Yale as one of the esteemed top world universities...until now!
What qualifications does Father Tony posses to permit him to lecture to students on religious studies, or is there some ulterior motive? Remember, this is a man has not done one thing without having an ulterior motive behind the action.
On giving it more thought, maybe this position has been manufactured by the Americans to keep him away from his resounding success as a Middle East peace envoy. Think about it, he could destroy all major religions within 10 years and secure world peace.

Faith, believing two unbelievable things before breakfast?
Undoubtedly beyond cringeworthy but Blair must be the best choice for a post punting faith on a global scale.
Look at his track record of conning the public into accepting lies which could not be substantiated. Look at his leagacy, a Labour party that is incapable of telling the truth even when it is in their interest to do so.
Really they ought to put him an electrified maze, teach him to salivate to the ringing of a bell and generaly establish how he works.

Hey Dude,

There is no such thing as "an illegal war"

War is war, its neither legal or illegal.

Ponder that Dude.

bill2 (18): "The only justification for force is for self-defence or acting under a UN mandate."

Do you really hold this to be true? Would you then hold the Tanzanian invasion of Uganda in 1979, which removed Amin's regime, to be an illegal war?

Yes, faith in a system that would never see him held to account

It could be argued that Tanzania was acting in self-defence, which would make the war legal.

Invading a country to effect regime change is illegal, as was the case in Iraq.

"Think about it, he could destroy all major religions within 10 years and secure world peace."

In view of the current situation in the World,
I cannot help but think, with all the serious suffering in the World that some people are having - and some, a very many some are not, it seems to be saying that World Peace - for all, will never be achieved while any religions at all exist and are still being followed, and their followers being totally indoctrinated in an endeavour to 'believe', and / or completely mislead about reality, usually it seems, by some kind of fear / bullying presented by those 'Wise Men' at the top of the Religious tree!

Religious organisations - no matter who their God, or Superior being may be, do not seem to be compatible with 'Peace for all' - maybe for some, as we already see, but see the poor state the whole World is in at present, and a situation, seemingly, entirely created mainly by Religious bitterness usually by one against another, and where it seems, in many instances, some Humans lives are simply considered 'a Waste of Space'for their beliefs and ideals, and complete elimination from life is their just reward simply for being 'different!' 'Not very nice at all!'

Need more be said?
