A POLICE chief has issued a plea for compassion for the "distraught families" of the victims of a brutal double murder.
The plea came after it emerged Chinese student Zhen Xing Yang, 25, may have been involved in an internet betting scam. Mr Yang and his girlfriend Xi Zhou, also 25, were found dead in their flat in Newcastle.
