A SHIP which carried first-class passengers to the Titanic before its maiden voyage is to go under the hammer.
The SS Nomadic, the last of the White Star ships built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast, was due to go on sale in France today.
Built the year before Titanic, the Nomadic took first-class passengers to the great liner, which sank with the loss of more than 1500 lives in 1912.
Campaigners have been lobbying the government in an attempt to bring the ship back to Belfast.
The ship's reserve price is £165,000.
