Parliament staff 'victims of bullying'
Published Date:

MORE than one in ten staff working in the Scottish Parliament have complained of bullying or harassment, according to a new report.
Holyrood bosses are to send all staff on "dignity at work" courses after a survey revealed 12.6 per cent of people had experienced bullying – up from 10.6 per cent in 2005.
All of the 500-plus staff at Holyrood will be sent the refresher equalities and dignity at work courses during the summer.
The survey is also reported to have found that staff with disabilities are more likely to be bullied or harassed and that sexism and ageism were also occurring.
A Scottish Parliament spokeswoman was reported as saying: "Parliament policy is firmly one of zero tolerance on this issue.
"As a responsible employer, the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body actively monitors the situation to ensure that areas for improvement are identified and addressed."
