THE Scottish Government has approved plans for a £95 million emergency care centre in Aberdeen. The project, which has still to receive planning permission, will be located next to the existing children's hospital at Foresterhill and will bring Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's accident and emergency, acute medical assessment and the primary care out-of-hours service together under one roof. The new centre is scheduled to open in 2011.
