THE head of Network Rail has been summoned to a meeting with Scotland's transport minister, who expressed his "extreme disappointment" at further delays to a key rail project.
No trains will run on six lines into Glasgow this weekend due to engineering work that should have finished last Sunday.

Stewart Stevenson said: "Passengers should not have been disrupted to this extent.

"I have spoken to Ian McAllister, the chairman of Network Rail, to register my dissatisfaction and concern. We plan to meet in the near future."

Network Rail said trains between Glasgow and Paisley, Gourock, Wemyss Bay, Largs, Ardrossan and Ayr would not resume fully until "early next week".
