Damaged rail line to reopen
A MAIN artery of the UK's rail network is due to reopen today.
The track, part of the West Coast mainline in Shap, Cumbria, has been closed for two days after five empty containers fell from a freight train, damaging power cables and track.
Replacement bus services were put in place between Glasgow and Preston.
A Network Rail spokesman said the track would reopen at 6.30am.
