THE Red Army is in revolt over a BBC blackout of their bid for European glory.
Aberdeen pulled off the shock of the season last week when they held the mighty Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Uefa cup showdown.
But now BBC Scotland has enraged Dons fans by confirming they will not be showing the concludi
ng tie in Berlin on Thursday.
The frustration felt by followers of the Pittodrie side is compounded by the fact that the national broadcaster has instead opted to broadcast their club's arch-rivals, Rangers, taking on Greek side, Panathinaikos.
The Glasgow club's game kicks off at 5pm, while Aberdeen's match in Germany starts at 5.45pm UK time.
Dons managing director Duncan Fraser confirmed the club is now looking to persuade Setanta or Sky Sports to screen the all-or-nothing clash in Munich's Allianz Arena.
He said: "We will be hugely disappointed if the game isn't shown live.
"There was a suggestion that the BBC could show part of it, once the Rangers game had ended, but that won't be enough for the tens of thousands of Dons fans around Scotland who will be eager to see all the action."
Hundreds of Aberdeen fans have signed a petition urging the BBC to show the game. They are backed by Aberdeen North SNP MSP and Dons stalwart Brian Adam, who claimed the corporation was failing the people who paid its wages.
He said: "There must be some way for the BBC to set up a live link to one of the German broadcasters showing the game."
But BBC Scotland head of sport, Ewan Angus, defended the decision, saying: "We have featured Aberdeen seven times over the course of the tournament live on TV and only four Rangers games so far and we will be offering live radio and online commentary on the Aberdeen match."
