Thai man jailed for insulting monarch

A THAI court sentenced a man to ten years in jail yesterday for posting comments on the internet deemed insulting to the country's monarchy.
Suwicha Thakhor, 37, was arrested in January after police traced the postings to his home computer.

Lese-majeste – insulting the monarchy – is considered a serious offence punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
