PAUL WILSON is activities manager at Drummond Grange Care Home.
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? Going to Edinburgh Waxwork Museum and getting the fright of my life when I got lost in the horror chambers.
What are your memories of school? Getting into trouble over chatting too much and daydreami
ng at Green Hall High School.
Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? Holyrood Palace, as I love history and always wanted a palace of my own. I can dream, can't I?
What are the best things about Edinburgh? The shopping and the nightlife, as you can have a meal out in any country within Edinburgh. Edinburgh is like New York – it never sleeps.
What would you change about the city? The heavy traffic flow and the rain when shopping, as it always rains when I go shopping.
Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. It would have to be a night at the theatre to see the latest production and a meal in an Italian restaurant, followed by a good night out in a nightclub.
Which sports interest you? I like Scottish rugby – it is even better when we win as, in my opinion, it's electric.
What was your most embarrassing moment? When I worked at Borthwick Castle Hotel, at the age of 16, I had to take guests up to the top room on a spiral staircase. I felt a buzzing in my upper leg and remembered that we had a wasps' nest. In sheer panic, I pulled my trousers and underwear down to my ankles and screamed. I was so embarrassed and so were the residents.
What is your greatest achievement? In June, I won the Barchester Healthcare Award for Activities Manager of the Year at a grand awards ceremony in London and met GMTV's Fiona Phillips. I was so proud of this award and what I have achieved for Drummond Grange.
Sum up Edinburgh in three words. Exciting, wonderful, historic.
