Robyn Glynne-Percy, 48, is MD of PR agency Profile Plus. She arrived in Edinburgh in 1986 as a cultural representative for New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? It was the Commonwealth Games and a drinks party for all the cultural representatives who were here representing their countries. Over 40 different nationalities and 40 Scottish men – a bi
t like going back to a school dance!

What are your memories of school? We had a wonderful, welcoming Maori teacher called Mrs Babe and a ferocious science teacher – every day we had a science test.

Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? It has to be Arthur's Seat. The light on Arthur's Seat is magical in the evenings, whether you are driving by, walking round it or viewing it from a distance.

What are the best things about Edinburgh? Apart from Arthur's Seat – lots of things. It has so many different elements to it. I love the city and its new-found confidence and style. Its size – it's not too big but it's not too small. And the countryside, beaches and activities available around the city are so accessible.

What would you change about the city? The roadworks that almost reduce it to a Third World nation.

Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. With two lively boys it has to be something active. So I would say, going to an early sports match at the Edinburgh Academy, relaxing with a great coffee in a cafe afterwards (without the darlings) or catching up with a girlfriend over lunch. Home, and relax in the garden, play a game of tennis or go for a run, then drinks and supper.

Which sports interest you? Most – I come from New Zealand! I used to be a runner having completed several marathons and dozens of half marathons. Would now call myself a jogger! Otherwise, tennis, squash, golf, cricket, sailing and rugby.

What was your most embarrassing moment? Probably when I accidentally sent an e-mail to someone who I really shouldn't have.

What is your greatest achievement? Probably arriving here with a suitcase, no qualifications and no friends or family and now have a thriving PR agency, beautiful home, great friends and happy family.

Sum up Edinburgh in three words. My other home . .
