1 What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh?
When I was 15 years old I came here to visit my sister. We did the tourist trail in style and I fell in love with the city in the process.
2 What are your memories of school?
I spent seven years
at Dominican College, Portstewart, Northern Ireland. It was a convent perched high on the cliffs. We were always getting caught for staring out of the windows in class.
3 Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why?
The main atrium at the Royal Museum of Scotland is one of the most spectacular spaces I've seen, especially when it's lit for an event.
4 What are the best things about Edinburgh?
Because it's a small city, you can walk everywhere but it has plenty of buses for when you're feeling lazy.
5 What would you change about the city?
I'd move it to the west coast so it's a shorter trip home!
6 Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out.
It would start with a walk to the Botanics for a picnic with my girlfriend. We'd then head to The Shore to meet friends for a drink before dinner at the Olive Branch and some comedy at The Stand.
7 Which sports interest you? I enjoy golf, but I'm also an international competitor at Mario Kart.
8 What was your most embarrassing moment?
During the MTV Europe Music Awards in Edinburgh in 2003, I had to walk down the main catwalk during a commercial break. All the technicians were dressed in a grey boilersuit with a monkey on the back. Needless to say, we got a huge cheer from the crowd.
9 What is your greatest achievement?
It was setting up Diamond Event Services with my brother John. We started from our bedrooms but, five years on, our clients include Scotland's leading venues, production and event supply companies.
