Hannah Young, 28, is the founder of www.scotmum. com. She lives in Liberton
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? Turning up at Pollock Halls with all of my possessions in 2008 to start university. I was so excited, but terrified at the same time. It seemed as if everyone knew each other already, but
as soon as the Freshers' Week events started I soon made friends.

What are your memories of school? When I was at the Atheley School in England, my best friend, Emily, wet herself during an English lesson in P1. I remember laughing so hard I wet myself too. Well, I was only four.

Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? I love the Meadows for its open space right in the heart of the city,

What are the best things about Edinburgh? The diverse choice of restaurants, the fantastic choice of schools and the history that literally is around every corner in the city. I especially love the Royal Mile as I got married in St Giles' Cathedral three years ago.

What would you change about the city? I would make it less congested. It seems to take such a long time to get around town recently. That said, I can't wait to see the trams in action.

Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. Going to see a film at The Dominion. I would then go for dinner and drinks along George Street with my husband and friends. If the night were to end perfectly there would be a cab with my name on it waiting outside!

Which sports interest you? I really enjoyed going to the Melrose 7s this year.

What was your most embarrassing moment? Without doubt it was when I got my high heels caught in a drain grid on a night out in the centre of town. After ten minutes of "hilarity" for my friends, I had to be rescued.

What is your greatest achievement? Having the courage to start my own business www.scotmum.com. After I had my daughter, I realised that there was not much dedicated support for mums in Scotland so I decided to start an online service which is free and offers advice for mums by mums. It has started well, with many mums registering for free advice and to share parenting tips.

Sum up Edinburgh in three words. Beautiful, windy, compact.
