Mobile broadband 'half the speed'

MOBILE broadband internet offers half the speed of online access through a traditional landline, according to research.
In a survey of users, it was found the average speed obtained was only 1.46 Mbps. Vodafone is suggesting its mobile broadband can achieve 7.2 Mbps, while others, including 3, are quoting speeds of 2.8 Mbps.

Where do you get the speed of a "traditional landline" from? There are plenty of people in this country that only get speeds of about 512kbps or, if their lucky, 1Mbps. We don't all live in big cities.

And it's ever so sad that we don't have phones worldwide that, broad band doo-hicky or not, hooked up to a laptop or not, which, don't deliver, fast and I mean FAST speed. You know? 8GB? What's fast? Think about it? The companies delivering say oh ubiquity...but the reality is, pittance my friend. Pittance. In all modes and operations.
