SPARTANS under-14s added to the growing success of the club when achieving success in the tenth Annual Amsterdam Cup.
Under-14 coach Les Atkinson was assisted by Tony McKinley, Callum Black, Andrew Simpson and Mark McCraw for the prestigious event that attracted clubs from across Europe. The standard of opposition was high and, in the first phase, Spartans achieved one win, a draw and two defeats.

Spartans qualified for the B group stages and clinched their place in the semi-finals with wins in their first four games.

The Edinburgh club were held to a 2-2 draw in their semi-final tie, but went on to win the penalty decider 3-2, before recording a 2-0 triumph in the final to win the B trophy.

Team spokesman, Steven Shields, said: "The boys had a great time.

"They completed the tournament with an overall record of seven wins in their ten games played, with one draw and two defeats."
