MI5's director-general has warned business leaders China has been carrying out state-sponsored espionage against British banks and financial services firms, it was reported last night.
Jonathan Evans sent a confidential letter to 300 executives and security chiefs at banks, accountants and legal firms this week warning them their computer systems were under attack from "Chinese state organisations".

It is believed to be the first time the government has directly accused China of involvement in web-based espionage. A security expert said that among the techniques used by Chinese groups were "custom trojans", software designed to hack into the network of a particular firm and feed back confidential data.

A Home Office spokeswoman said: "We do not comment on private correspondence."

Surprised?

Everyone else has been doing it, so what took so long to accuse one of the nations with the least morals of the same?

#3 Donkeyhead. The Chinese people may be moral, but their government is not. that is why they are involved in the genocide of the Tibetan people.

You, obviously, have no morals as you are an ongoing apologist for the behaviour of the CPC and the PLA.

How can Donkeyhead make such sweeping statements about the morals/morality of the Chinese whilst at the same time ONCE AGAIN insulting and denigrating Scotland in particular and the UK in general?

What a stupid person. And to think there are millions and millions and millions like him in China.

Be afraid, very afraid.

well! well! Chinese indulging in espionage
probably taught to them by the worlds best, the British.
the Chinese I work with here, their manners are impeccable! and their morals equally as good.

4. Guga II, Rockall

The Scottish government (as every government is) are bending over backwards to improve trade and cultural links with China, are they guilty of supporting genocide of the Tibetan people?

I have had extensive dealings with the mainland Chinese, and I find them to be extremely rude (try walking down the street) and inherently corrupt. From top to bottom .

#3 Chairman Mao's Grandad is an apologist, who not only defends a country who view us as deadly enemies/rivals, but also, in a very typically Chinese view of the world, he regularly paints the non-Chinese (us) as sub-human.

A truly disgusting specimen.

Should not surprise anyone that the chinese do this. What should surprise people is the MI5 did absolutely nothing to stop BT selecting DSL gear with code written in Chinese to connect most of the UK's firms to the so called '21century network'. Er... hello! I mean, they're going to do it, but do we have to open additional doors and lay out the red carpet? There are quite enough conventional IT holes to plug without inviting new ones that we'll never find out about.
