TWO women who stole seven pairs of designer sunglasses from the duty free shop at Edinburgh Airport have been fined.
Jean McGovern, 42, and Annette Daniel, 47, both of Glasgow, were bound for a holiday in Turkey when they visited the World Duty Free store on 11 June.

Instead they spent a night in the cells after being caught stealing sunglasses.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday both women were fined £750 after admitting stealing the glasses.

Defence solicitor, Jacqueline McColl, told Sheriff Raymond MacMenamin "drink had been taken". He said their drunken act had lost their holiday to Turkey, and spent the night in the cells.

Sharia law Arab style would have been more appropriate,ie hand chopping is the punishment for thieves. In this case their ears too might have been appropriate too.Nothing to hang their sunglasses on.Semi-joking apart, this pair of low life were thieving on a commercial basis, either to sell them for more booze money or fund their excesses in Turkey etc.
Jail would have been more just.

#5 Dragonhead. I think you've taken that too far.
I know they are Weegies, but that's no justification for Sharia law, which is barbaric, moronic, and belongs in the distant past.
