SCOTTISH band Orange Juice scooped a lifetime achievement award at the Tartan Clef awards ceremony last night.
The 1980s group, led by singer Edwyn Collins, received the top prize at the glittering rock'n'roll awards, which celebrate the best in Scottish music.
Best known for their 1983 hit 'Rip It Up', which reached number eight in the charts, the Glaswegian post-punk band were delighted to be recognised for their achievements at the ceremony in Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket last night.
Other winners included the Fratellis, who performed live at the ceremony, Sharleen Spiteri, who was given an outstanding contribution award, and Eddi Reader, who was named singer-songwriter of the year.
In 2005, Collins suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and underwent major operations, which left him unable to play the guitar. However, he recently returned to singing live.
