THIEVES have stolen four pairs of rare breeding ducks from a country smallholding, police said.
They picked out four male and four female Khaki Campbell ducks who were in a breeding pen with other ducks.

Police suspect the unusual birds, valued at about £50 each, may have been stolen for sale.

They were taken from a pen at a smallholding in Seafield Road, Bilston, Midlothian, between midday and 6pm on Saturday, 10 July.

Police have now appealed to the public for information after almost two weeks of investigations.

Sometimes the pet ducks which have been stolen(elsewhere) have previously been treated and are not fit for human consumption.

We have had Khaki Campbells and other ducks stolen several times.

The first occasion was when my spouse was in hospital critically ill. Nice place to attack and steal children's ducks when the life of one of their parents is threatened.

On the last occasion when a decapitated body was returned and left in front of their swings I received a poor photostat note about being a victim of crime which was addressed to a member of my family who has never lived in Scotland and who had died a little before this.
