Dobbie's Garden Centre in Lasswade will run the event on March 19 in a bid to cure people's phobias of the eight-legged creatures.

I've never been able to understand why people have a fear of spiders---in the same way that I have never been able to understand why people have a fear of mice and rats.

There are only a very few poisonous spiders in the world and mostly, these are not going to be found in this country.
