THE developers of a masterplan on the banks of the Forth have hit out at the Edinburgh-based port owners for "frustrating progress".
The Scarborough Muir Group, which is behind the £500 million proposal to redevelop the Rosyth Waterfront in Fife, said Forth Ports was reneging on an agreement struck to work together.
Chiefs at the group said they have been unable to strike a voluntary agreement with Forth Ports to bring forward the masterplan and "co-exist" with the organisation, which is behind the massive proposed regeneration of Leith Docks.
Mark Cummings, spokesman for Scarborough Muir Group, said: "It is highly disappointing that once again we find ourselves being deliberately frustrated by Forth Ports, who appear unwilling to accept any development adjacent to them at Rosyth that they cannot personally control.
"Moving forward we will be asking on what basis Fife Council and the Scottish Government are prepared to support Forth Ports in this stance."
