MOST people believe Scotland football internationals should be live on free-to-view TV, a survey of viewers today found.
Even a majority of non-football fans back such a move, according to the figures released by the Scottish Broadcasting Commission.

The national side's home matches are currently broadcast on subscription channel Sky Sports, while fellow pay TV broadcaster Setanta has rights to the away games. First Minister Alex Salmond recently branded it "extraordinary and unacceptable" that the only forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers to be screened on terrestrial TV in Scotland would be England's home matches.

The Public Attitudes to Broadcasting survey today found that 53 per cent of Scots were interested in watching live Scottish football.

Of these, 96 per cent say that Scotland internationals should be live on terrestrial TV.

A spokesman for the SFA said today it has "every sympathy" with supporters, but needs the funding from TV deals to develop grassroots football.

You mean there are people who actually pay money to watch soccer on TV? God, how depressing.

Listen, I'm a DOCTOR and I would never pay to watch LIVE FOOTY.

Anyway, what did you expect and how can you print this rubbish. Another survey found out that 99% of people were humans.

"A spokesman for the SFA said today it has "every sympathy" with supporters, but needs the funding from TV deals to develop grassroots football."

This is the crux of the matter - until Sky/Setanta etc. stop paying silly money for these matches there is no chance of them appearing on terrestrial tv. More importantly why do they show England games up here? Surely they could put something else on?

The only way you would get me to watch any type of soccer is by paying ME to watch it.

The fact is that the BBC has paid for England games but doesn't make the same effort for Scottish internationals, I wonder why?

#2 Listen, I'm a DOCTOR and I would never pay to watch LIVE FOOTY.

I am also a doctor and would imprison anyone guilty of paying to watch the world's dreariest 'sport'.

#4 I'M a doctor, and I never see you at the meetings.

Doctor Antionette and my goodself are far too busy in our private practices to attend meetings in Paris.

A survey of unemployed people in Scotland today found that many believe the world actually does owe them a living. In other news, a survey of recentlyc-convicted shoplifters found several who believed they were "redistributing wealth" and should be lauded as champions of the people.

Of course everybody wants something for nothing! What a waste of print.
