THE Scottish Government is to waive the tuition fees for students studying at the new £15 million Aberdeen Dental School to help attract graduates to the new facility, it was revealed yesterday.
The decision, announced by Shona Robison, the public health minister, during a visit to the city, will save students £7,100 over the four years of the dental course.

A total of 15 students are due to begin studies at the dental school in October.

Ms Robison said:

"It is vitally important we make studying dentistry as attractive as possible to improve access to NHS dentistry. The funding is just one measure we are taking to do this."

Considering that the NHS has screwed up everything else it has touched, it shouldn't take long for them to debilitate this as well.

50% of Brits can't find a dentist!

Tell me again how well Socialized Medicine works?

Cheers from the Rockies

Hello Bill in Fife,

I'm glad you found a dentist, because according to the Scotsman, the Times, the Guardian, etc., you are an exception, rather than the rule.

These papers reported that some 50% of your fellow countrymen are not so lucky. Nearly half of your countrymen are in such dire straits, because more and more NHS dentists are going private, because they're tired of getting paid a mere pittance, compared to their private sector counterparts.

These dentists have gotten tired of not being able to provide for their families in a manner commensurate with their private sector peers.

I'll also tell you this, I am physically impaired and in need of a great deal of medical assistance: assistance which I cannot afford to acquire.

However, I STILL do NOT want your Brit Universal Health Care in my country, because MORE Brits DIE from curable cancers, than do their American counterparts.

Look it up for yourself: Cancer patients in nearly every category, are DYING in greater numbers than Americans with the same type of cancers.

More Brit women are dying of cervical cancer and breast cancer, than American women with the same disease. Brit women are NOT allowed to get Pap smears at the same rate as American women. 58% of Brit women get Pap smears compared to American women.

Why? Because of the Socialized Budget limitations: people can't get medical help because of LIMITED funding. There isn't enough money to pay for it all.

Brits are dying 'equally' because of the 'stellar' Universal Health Care Systems of which you are so apparently proud.

I'm in pain and I need a number of surgeries, but I'm not willing to let my fellow countrymen die, just for the chance I might get help in a few years.

Cheers from the Rockies
